ŠKODA AUTO to bring the Octavia in Diesel engine this September!
Skoda’s brand director, Petr Janeba, has confirmed via a new report that Skoda are set to bring back the diesel engine option with the new-gen Octavia, which is slated to launch ahead of the 2025 festive season.
Notably, this comes five years after the VW Group, Skoda’s parent company, phased out its diesel offerings.
In terms of design, it will look identical to the model sold in the United Kingdom. It will get updated LED headlights and taillights and an updated interior.
The Skoda Octavia diesel 2.0-litre engine variant will be a full import. The company’s brand director mentioned that the import will be through the Indian government’s GSR 870 rule and the model is same as the one that is on sale in UK.
In addition to the diesel Skoda Octavia, the company will also be launching the Octavia RS in India.
