The BYD Seagull EV is all set to make its debut in India. BYD India is now all set to launch its third product after the launch of its E6 MPV and the Atto3 SUV. The Seagull Ev is positioned as BYD’s most budget-friendly car to date in its lineup.
The Seagull Ev was first showcased at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show. The BYD Seagull is the smallest car in the company’s portfolio.
The seagull showcases a tallboy design with sharp accents, exuding a bit more of a sporty nature.
The Seagull EV is equipped with LED headlamps with two LED vertical blocks. BYD terms these headlamps “ice-breaking eyes.”.
The BYD Seagull EV’s dimensions are 3780 mm in length, 1715 mm in breadth, and 1540 mm in height.
The Seagull is expected to be offered with two battery pack choices: 30kWh and 38kWh, mated to 72PS and 100PS electric motors. The former could offer a range of up to 305 km, while the latter may deliver a range of up to 405 km.
The interiors look plush; it offers a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, and at the center is a 12.8-inch infotainment system, a three-spoke flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel, a smart layered dashboard, a powered driver’s seat, a neatly integrated wireless charging pad, and a few other features.

South Korean carmaker Kia is bringing the Kia Sportage to India, which is in its fourth generation. The Sportage’s distinctive design keeps it from being mistaken for another crossover, but it does share much of its DNA with its corporate sibling, the Hyundai Tucson.
The Sportage is the second model under the brand’s ‘Opposites United’ ideology and receives a
revamped exterior along with an interior that is newly designed. The Kia Sportage has the same set of priorities as most of its compact-crossover competitors.
On the front side, it offers Kia’s traditional Tiger Nose grille design and the boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. These DRLs enclose the LED headlamps. Corrugated on either side of the front bumper are LED
headlamps, while the fog lamps are housed separately below with a silver garnish.
While the side profile of the Sportage looks familiar to the Jeep Compass, the chrome strip running Below the window line, kinking on the D-pillar gives the SUV more character, while the black roof and the pronounced rear wheel arches give it a muscular stance.
The rear is very similar to the Carens, with comma-shaped tail lamps.
The Sportage is likely to be offered with a 2.0-liter petrol engine that generates 155 PS of power and 192 Nm of torque. There is also a 2.0L diesel engine that produces 185 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque.
On the inside, the Sportage offers a snazzy design highlighted by a huge digital display on the dashboard and other various eye-catching details. The interior might be available in an attractive two-tone color scheme.
The Mercedes-Benz EQA electric SUV is set to be launched on July 8, 2024. Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch its latest electric offering in the Indian market.
The EQA will be the entry point for Merc’s electric portfolio and will be based on the GLA. The EQA first debuted back in 2021, and the car got an update in 2023. The EQA will join the EQB SUV, the EQE SUV, and the EQS, becoming the German automaker’s fourth EV offering in India.
Mercedes-Benz offers the international-spec EQA with a 66.5kWh battery pack that has a claimed WLTP of 426 km. It comes with a single electric motor that develops 190 PS and 375 Nm that’s sent to the front wheels.
In international markets, the EQA electric SUV comes with two battery options and four variants.
These include the EQA 250, EQA 250+, EQA 300 4Matic, and EQA 350 4Matic.
Inside, it will feature the latest MBUX system, dual 10.25-inch screens, a Burmester-sourced music system, automatic climate control, and turbine-style air-con vents with ambient lighting AC vents. The screens run Mercedes-EQ-specific software. The EQA’s dash is largely a carryover from the GLA.
Nissan India is now gearing up for the launch of their upcoming premium SUV, the Nissan X-Trail. The The SUV was discontinued in 2014. The new Nissan X-trail will hit the showroom floors via the CBU route.
The front end boasts a huge Nissan’s signature V-motion grille, flanked by sleek LED headlights that extend towards the fenders. It will also feature LED taillights with an integrated spoiler and diffuser. Internationally, the X-Trail is available in both five- and seven-seater configurations.
The X-Trail’s interior prioritizes comfort and functionality, loaded with multiple creature comforts that include three-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, an engine start-stop button, all-LED illumination and a fully digital instrument cluster, a HUD display, ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and more. Other visual highlights include wraparound two-piece taillights, door cladding, rear wipers, a washer-integrated spoiler with a top-mounted stop lamp, and a shark-fin antenna.
The Nissan X-Trail Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter diesel engine paired with an electric motor. This powertrain will produce a combined power output of 179 bhp. The hybrid motor will be mated to a CVT gearbox.
The Nissan X-Trail Hybrid will offer better off-road capabilities than its predecessor, as it is equipped with an electronic 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system.
The SUV will also feature Active Ride Control, similar to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
