But dig a little deeper, and you\u2019ll see the real action is happening outside India. Exports shot up by a hefty 41% even as domestic demand cooled.<\/span><\/p>

How did Maruti Suzuki perform overall in August 2025?<\/span><\/h2>

Maruti sales performance August report shows the brand holding its ground in total volumes. Out of the 1.8 lakh units, 134,050 were sold right here in India. Meanwhile, 10,095 went to other OEMs, and 36,538 were shipped abroad.<\/span><\/p>

Compared to August 2024, this total number has barely budged. But the mix of where those cars went has distinctly shifted. <\/span><\/p>

Passenger vehicle sales at home slipped to 131,278 units from 143,075 last year. That\u2019s a noticeable drop, especially for a company that usually leads the pack.<\/span><\/p>

Why did domestic sales slow down for Maruti Suzuki in August 2025?<\/span><\/h2>

The Maruti Suzuki domestic sales August figures suggest a few reasons for the slow-down. Dealers have revealed that some buyers are holding back. The latter are most probably waiting to see if the government will cut GST rates on cars.<\/span><\/p>

Mini and compact cars \u2014 Alto<\/a>, S\u2011Presso<\/a>, WagonR<\/a>, Dzire<\/a> \u2014 sold 66,450 units. This is down from 68,699 last year. <\/span><\/p>

Utility vehicles like Brezza<\/a>, Grand Vitara<\/a>, and Ertiga<\/a> also saw fewer takers. Their figures slipped to 54,043 units from 62,684. Even the trusty Eeco van moved a little slower off the lot in August 2025.<\/span><\/p>

It\u2019s not that interest has vanished. But with the festive season starting earlier this year and no big discounts to lure fence\u2011sitters, the usual August rush just didn\u2019t happen.<\/span><\/p>
