The updated Mahindra Bolero Neo has finally been spotted on Indian roads while undergoing testing. This is the first time since its launch in 2021 that the SUV has been caught with changes to its design. The sighting suggests that Mahindra is working on a facelifted version that could reach showrooms soon. With subtle updates outside and some expected new features inside the popular sub 4m SUV is gearing up for its next chapter<\/span><\/p>

A Quick Recap: Mahindra Bolero Neo\u2019s Journey<\/span><\/b><\/h2>

Back in July 2021 Mahindra introduced the Bolero Neo<\/a> as a refreshed and rebadged version of the TUV300. The aim was to merge the rugged appeal of the Bolero brand with a more city friendly SUV design. Since then the Bolero Neo has stayed largely the same, without any major updates. Now, with the facelift in development, Mahindra seems ready to bring something fresh to the table.<\/span><\/p>

What Did The Spy Shots Reveal?<\/span><\/b><\/h2>

The test vehicle of the updated Mahindra Bolero Neo was heavily camouflaged at the front but certain design changes were still visible<\/span><\/p>

New Front Grille<\/span><\/b><\/p>

  • The biggest update is the redesigned grille<\/span><\/li>
  • Instead of the current honeycomb pattern with vertical slats, the facelift gets horizontal bars stretching from one headlamp to the other<\/span><\/li>
  • This small tweak gives the SUV a wider and bolder appearance<\/span><\/li> <\/ul>

    Bumper And Air Intakes<\/span><\/b><\/p>

    • The lower bumper design has also been revised<\/span><\/li>
    • The honeycomb mesh used earlier for the air intake has now been replaced with clean horizontal elements, in line with the grille<\/span><\/li> <\/ul>

      Headlamps And Fog Lamps<\/span><\/b><\/p>

      • The spotted test model still had halogen headlights and fog lamps<\/span><\/li>
      • There is no sign yet of LED headlamps, although Mahindra might offer them in higher trims when the production version rolls out<\/span><\/li> <\/ul>

            Although the spy images did not reveal the cabin, industry reports suggest that Mahindra will make some enhancements to keep the interior modern and more practical<\/span><\/p>

            Possible updates include<\/span><\/p>

            • A larger touchscreen infotainment system with <\/span>Android Auto<\/span><\/b> and <\/span>Apple CarPlay<\/span><\/b> support<\/span><\/li>
            • Automatic climate control with rear AC vents for better comfort<\/span><\/li>
            • A rear centre armrest which could improve long-distance convenience for passengers<\/span><\/li>
            • Minor trim changes to the dashboard and upholstery for a refreshed appeal<\/span><\/li> <\/ul>

              These updates are expected to align the SUV better with the needs of today\u2019s customers, especially younger families<\/span><\/p>

              Features That Could Continue<\/span><\/b><\/h2>

              The current Bolero Neo already offers a mix of useful features many of which are expected to be retained in the facelift<\/span><\/p>

              • Analogue instrument cluster with a colour multi information display (MID)<\/span><\/li>
              • All four power windows<\/span><\/li>
              • Height adjustable driver\u2019s seat for improved ergonomics<\/span><\/li>
              • Cruise control for comfortable highway drives<\/span><\/li>
              • Six speaker audio system for a decent music experience<\/span><\/li> <\/ul>

                Safety Features In The Updated Mahindra Bolero Neo<\/span><\/b><\/h2>

                At present the Bolero Neo is equipped with <\/span>dual front airbags<\/span><\/b>, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts and a rear view camera with sensors.<\/span><\/p>

                With the upcoming update Mahindra is likely to improve the safety package by<\/span><\/p>

                • Offering <\/span>six airbags<\/span><\/b> as standard<\/span><\/li>
                • Retaining ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors<\/span><\/li>
                • Keeping ISOFIX anchors for child safety seats<\/span><\/li> <\/ul>

                  These additions will make the SUV better suited to upcoming safety norms and also enhance customer trust in Mahindra\u2019s safety first approach<\/span><\/p>
