Kia India has issued a voluntary recall for the EV6 electric SUV in India, impacting more than 1,138 units manufactured in 2022–23 due to a potential fault in the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), which could impact the performance of the 12V auxiliary battery.

The SUVs were manufactured between March 3, 2022, and April 14, 2023. The Kia EV6 comes from India via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. The issue is related to the ICCU, which affects the auxiliary battery.

Kia has rolled out a software update to rectify this issue and will be reaching out to customers to notify them about the recall. Kia EV6 owners can visit the nearest authorized dealership to get their EV inspected.

Notably, the EV6’s recall comes shortly after its sibling, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, was affected by the same issue.

The EV6 is priced from Rs 60.97 lakh to Rs 65.97 lakh (ex-showroom).
