Kia Motors has introduced its flagship electric SUV in the Indian market. The EV9 is available in a single fully loaded variant priced at Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom).
The EV9 is being brought in as a CBU and is now Kia’s flagship offering in the country.
The Kia EV9 is based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).
Kia EV9 : Exterior
The Kia EV9 has an overall boxy, SUV-like silhouette. The electric SUV sports a sharp-looking fascia with an ablanked-off grille and vertical LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs. It gets vertical LED taillamps with a rather clean tailgate, a spoiler, and a dual-tone bumper with a skid plate, automatic flush-fitting door handles, and 20-inch Crystal-cut alloy wheels.

In India, the EV9 is available in 5 monotone body colors: Snow White Pearl, Ocean Blue, Pebble Gray, Panthera Metal, and Aurora Black Pearl.
Kia EV9: Dimensions
The Kia EV9 measures 5,015mm in length, 1,980mm in width, stands 1,780mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 3,100mm.
Kia EV9: Interior
On the inside, the Kia EV9 features two 12.3-inch screens integrated together by a 5.3-inch climate control display between the two displays, a floating dashboard design finished in black. The electric SUV gets a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo and storage space under the center console, with physical controls placed right below the AC vents in the middle.
The EV9 comes with a dual-tone Brown and Black interior colorway.
The second row of the EV9 offers captain seats with 8-way power adjustment and massage function.
The rear seat passengers get ventilation and massage function and winged headrests, while the 3-row seats have a reclining function.
Kia EV9: Powertrain
The Kia EV9 is powered by a 99.8 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a maximum range of 561 km (WLTP cycle). It powers two electric motors, one on each axle, with a combined output of 383 BHP and 700 Nm, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.

The electric SUV comes with an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) and can offer a range of up to 561 km on a single charge.
On the safety front, the electric SUV includes multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features like automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist. The Kia EV9 has a score of 5-star safety rating in Euro NCAP and ANCAP crash tests.
