Nissan has launched its X-trail in the Indian market. The three-row SUV will compete against Toyato Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq.

The Nissan X-Trail is a 7 seater 4 cylinder car and has length of 4680 mm, width of 1840 mm and a wheelbase of 2705 mm. Meanwhile, The Skoda Kodiaq is a 7 seater 4 cylinder car and has length of 4699 mm, width of 1882 mm and a wheelbase of 2791 mm. Similarly, The Toyato Fortuner is a 7 seater 4 cylinder car and has length of 4795 mm, width of 1855 mm and a wheelbase of 2745 mm.

Engine

The X-trail’s 1.5-litre petrol engine is a three-cylinder unit with only 160bhp and 300Nm on tap and it powers the front wheel only. In comparison, the Kodiaq’s 2.0-litre petrol makes 190bhp and 320Nm and is paired with a 7-speed DCT and an intelligent AWD system. The Fortuner gets two engine options a 2.7-L 4-cylinder NA petrol and a 2.8L 4-cylinder diesel engine. Gearbox options include 5MY, 6AT, 6MT OR 6AT.

Specifications

The X-trail offers powertrain of 163 hp and 300 Nm, while the Skoda Kodiaq has 190 hp and 320 Nm at its disposal. Moreover, Fortuner’s petrol powertrain produces 166hp and 245 Nm. Similarly, the diesel engine gives 210 hp of power and 500 Nm of peak torque.

The X-trail is being offered as a CBU (completely built unit / imported) product in India. Priced at Rs 49.92 lakh, Meanwhile, Toyato Fortuner Petrol price in India ranges between ₹ 33.43 Lakh and ₹ 35.02 Lakh. Similarly, Fortuner Diesel price ranges between ₹ 35.93 Lakh and ₹ 51.44 Lakh. The Skoda Kodiaq is currently offered in a single L&K variant priced at Rs 39.99 lakh.

Safety

In terms of safety the Nissan X-trail includes 7 airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, rain-sensing wipers, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera. Similarly, Toyato Fortuner Safety features include seven airbags (as standard), vehicle stability control (VSC), traction control, and hill assist. Meanwhile, the Skoda Kodiaq SUV gets nine airbags (as standard), electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, hill hold and hill descent control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
