Fortuner Buyers who prefer a manual transmission will now need to consider the diesel variants of the Fortuner.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has discontinued the Petrol-Manual variant of the Fortuner. Petrol variant is now only available with an automatic transmission. Earlier, the manual was priced at ₹33.78 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Toyota Fortuner’s petrol variants generally experience lower demand compared to the diesel variants, primarily due to their lower fuel efficiency and higher fuel costs. Petrol prices are typically higher than diesel, adding to the overall cost of ownership, especially for those who drive frequently.
Moreover, Diesel variants offer better mileage, making them more economical for long-distance travel and overall ownership.
Customers looking for a petrol-powered Fortuner will now only have the option of an automatic transmission. The company is yet to state the exact reasons for discontinuing the Fortuner’s petrol-manual variant, we can assume factors such as low demand and the currenta market trends.
