The Swedish luxury car brand Volvo has confirmed the launch of the Volvo EX30, its entry-level SUV, in the Indian market by 2025.
The Volvo EX30 is currently the most affordable electric SUV in Volvo’s global portfolio.

Volvo India crossed the BEV sales milestone of 1,000 units last month.

The Swedish automaker aims to turn its entire portfolio electric by 2030.

Currently, Volvo sells two electric cars in India, the XC40 Recharge and the C40 Recharge.

Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director of Volvo Cars India, added, “More than one-fourth of the portfolio that we sell in India is fully electric. I’m sure the EX30 will help us expand further. It’s a new segment that we’re going to enter with this car.”

Volvo launched its first electric SUV, the XC40 Recharge Twin Motor, in 2022. The second electric SUV, the C40 Recharge Twin Motor, was introduced in 2023.

Persson stated during a media briefing, “We pace out our products. Next year (2025), we will come out with the EX30, which will be the new addition to our electric SUV line-up. The EX30 has been very well received in the rest of the world. So I am 100% confident it will also be well received in India.”
