The 2024 Hyundai Tucson has scored five stars in Bharat NCAP crash tests.
The Tucson has become the first Hyundai vehicle to undergo crash testing under the Bharat NCAP safety evaluation program. The model tested was made in India for the domestic market.
The Hyundai Tucson tested by Bharat NCAP were Platinum and Signature variants with a 2.0-liter petrol engine and automatic transmission.
This premium midsize SUV has garnered a score of 30.84 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 41 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP). That said, it has been awarded a perfect 5-star rating in both test cases. The SUV was tested for a front offset deformable barrier, a side movable barrier, and a side pole impact test.
The Hyundai Tucson is the 11th vehicle to earn a five-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, joining the Tata Harrier, Safari, Nexon, Punch, and Curvv.ev, Tata Nexon, Tata Punch.ev, Mahindra Thar, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Mahindra XUV400.
