Audi e-tron GT range recalled in India

According to media reports, Audi has issued a recall for the e-tron GT range in India. The e-tron range consists of the e-tron GT and the RS GT e-tron, and a total of 31 cars have been affected.

The impacted EVs will be equipped with onboard diagnostic software that can detect any future high-voltage battery module data anomalies. Owners of impacted vehicles won’t receive any kind of warning if a short circuit occurs. A diagnostic test will be performed, and, if necessary, the battery module assemblies will be replaced.

Shortly after Porsche was forced to recall almost 176 Taycans in the country due to a potential battery short circuit, Audi did the same with the mechanically-related e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT models, and for the same reason.

The e-tron range is Audi’s flagship electric sports car range in the country. Audi India is expected to reach out to customers of the affected vehicles, while the automaker is yet to release an official statement on the recall.
