Mercedes EQS SUV 450 launched at Rs 1.28 crore

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the EQS 450 SUV, a more affordable variant of the luxury electric SUV, priced at Rs 1.28 crore (ex-showroom).

This new model is Rs 13 lakh less than the Rs 1.41 crore (ex-showroom) EQS 580 SUV. Unlike the 580, the EQS 450 SUV is a 5-seater.

Mercedes-Benz EQS 450: Bookings and Deliveries

Bookings for the EQS 450 SUV have already begun and deliveries will begin from February. The larger cousin, the EQS 580 SUV is already sold out till April. Mercedes will showcase the EQS 450 SUV along with the newly launched electric G Wagon at the Bharat Mobility Expo.

Mercedes has not made any significant changes to the overall design of the EQS electric SUV. On the front it offers signature blacked-out panel grille that seamlessly integrates into the bumper, dual LED headlamps with an LED light bar, retractable door handles, and connected wraparound taillights. At the rear, it gets full-width LED tail lamps and the rear profile looks very similar to the Maybach EQS with minor changes.

On the inside, the cabin too remains the same as the EQS 580. It boasts a luxurious 56-inch Hyperscreen setup, comprising a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 17.7-inch infotainment system, and front passenger screen. A Burmester audio system, 360-degree camera, multi-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS. The spacious boot complements the roomy cabin, offering ample storage for everyday use.

Mercedes-Benz EQS 450: Battery, Range, & Powertrain

Mercedes has equipped the EQS 450 with a 122 kWh battery pack. The claimed range on one charge is 820 km. The battery pack can sustain a peak charging rate of 200 kW and juice up from 10% to 80% in 31 minutes, while it’ll take the battery 6.25 hours to charge from 0-100 percent using a 22kW AC wall box charger. The EQS 450 has a dual-motor setup that produces 536 hp and 858 Nm of peak torque.
