Skoda recently recently launched its first sub-compact SUV Kylaq. This new sub-4m SUV, based on the MQB A0 IN platform, sits underneath the Kushaq in the lineup.

The Kylaq’s base Classic variant is priced at Rs. 7.89 lakh. Skoda cars are usually on the higher side of the price range as compared to the competition, with the Kylaq, Skoda has undercut almost all its competitors.

The Kylaq Classic base variant will miss out on an infotainment screen, digital instrument panel, steering mounted controls, cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, automatic climate control, powered and ventilated front seats, and an electric sunroof.

The safety suite consists of 6 Airbags (front, side and curtain), ABS, EBD, ESC, TCS, brake disc wiping and more. There are a total of 25+ safety features on the base variant of the SUV.

Additionally, the Kylaq was awarded a 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP which is applicable even for the base variant.

Powering the Kylaq is a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which kicks out 115 bhp and 178 Nm of peak torque. In the Classic variant, the Kylaq is only offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
