In the May 2025, Škoda Auto celebrated a key milestone the manufacture of the five million Škoda Fabia 2025. Short Look at Škoda Fabia History

The Fabia has evolved to have four generations, each of them building upon the previous one.

1st Generation (1999–2008): Launched in the market as a compact hatch is was a great space car in its segment and was available in several engine variants. It also launched a sporty RS one with a diesel engine.
2nd Generation (2007–2014): A little more in size and height this generation also introduced off-road style in the Scout version and a potent turbocharged petrol RS.
3rd Generation (2014–2022): Wider and lower with high technology in terms of safety with adaptive cruise control and fatigue detection. The 2018 facelift brought LED headlights and blind-spot monitoring.
4th Generation (2021–Present): Sitting on a modern platform, it is longer with more Škoda Fabia boot space (380 liters) and progressive features, for example, automatic parking and pedestrian protection.

In 2024, Škoda sold 117,100 Fabias around the world, which made it the third most-popular model from the brand’s portfolio.
It is Škoda‘s second best-selling vehicle after the Octavia.
The Fabia is exported to over 100 countries demonstrating its popularity in the world.

Fabia is not only a city car but rather, a car with a great motorsport history. Škoda’s Fabia versions as rally cars are among the most successful of the rally cars. The latest one, which is the Fabia RS Rally2 managed to win over 1500 motorsport races thus becoming a legend in motorsport.

The Fabia is produced in Škoda’s key plant which is at Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. It is an embodiment of quality whereby practical design meets with modern technology.

Andreas Dick, the Škoda’s Board Member for Production and Logistics, says:

“Reaching five million Fabias is a great achievement. The Fabia remains a key part of Škoda and will continue production beyond 2030, offering efficient engines and advanced safety.”

The future of the 2025 Škoda Fabia?

Although Škoda will follow the trend of the auto industry to electric vehicles, not aware of the goods for the results, it is planning to continue producing the Fabia with efficient combustion engines at least until 2030. This is because there are still many drivers who choose the old type of engine, especially where infrastructure for electric vehicles is deficient.

The Fabia may also change with the help of new technology to make the vehicle modern, useful, and affordable.
