Citroen India has unveiled the production-spec Basalt coupe-SUV.

The Citroen Basalt will be the fifth product from Citroen in India. Additionally, this is the fourth model based on Citroen’s C-Cubed programme that’s specifically built for India, moreover it will also be made available in South American and European markets.

Citroen India is gearing up to launch the Basalt sometime in August, and is set to open bookings for it soon.

Citroen Basalt: Exterior

The design of the Citroen Basalt has a close resemblance to the C3 Aircross SUV with which the Basalt shares its underpinnings. It retains the signature split grille, faux skid plate, and chrome Chevron emblem, though it upgrades to projector LED headlamps.

The side profile of the Basalt flaunts a coupe roofline and dual-tone finish alloy wheels, a distinctive design with the squared-off cladding over the wheel arches and a chunky, dual-tone bumper and 3D-effect taillights.

Citroen Basalt: Interior

On the inside the cabin share its elements with the C3 Aircross with a different colour theme of beige and black. The Citroen Basalt offers a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charger, power windows, push button start, and steering mounted audio controls.

Additionally, the rear bench seat gets adjustable thigh support, which is a segment-first feature.

Citroen Basalt: Safety

In terms of safety, it gets six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors with camera.
