Maruti Suzuki Dzire scored 5-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). The Dzire compact sedan received 5 stars for both adult and child occupant protection tests.
It has become the first sedan in the country to receive a 5-star safety rating under the BNCAP crash tests.
BNCAP has so far tested 16 vehicles — all sport utility vehicles (SUVs) — under its crash safety evaluation program, making the Dzire the first non-SUV to earn the top rating. Bharat NCAP follows globally benchmarked protocols and aims to raise safety awareness among Indian car buyers.
The tested model of the new Maruti Dzire (Petrol– LXI 1.2L ISS 5MT). It comes equipped with various safety features, which include frontal airbags, side head curtain airbags, side chest airbags, belt pretensioners, belt load limiters, and ISOFIX. Safety assist technologies like ESC, pedestrian protection, and seat belt reminders are also present in the variant.
