Lexus Recalls LM, LX, NX, and RX Models in India for Preventive Parking Assist Software Update

In a recent Lexus safety recall update the company has announced a voluntary recall of several of its premium models in India. The recall affects a total of 1,588 vehicles including select units of the Lexus LM, Lexus LX, Lexus NX, Lexus RX and Lexus LS. The move aims to fix a potential software issue in the Parking Assist ECU which is part of the Panoramic View Monitor system used for displaying rear view images

This recall is being carried out to ensure continued safety and performance of the vehicles. Lexus has clarified that the recall is a preventive measure and that no incidents or related complaints have been reported so far in India

Details Of Affected Units

The recall involves vehicles produced over different time periods. The brand has shared model wise details as follows

1. Lexus LM – 258 units manufactured between April 2024 and August 2025.
2. Lexus LX – 136 units produced from August 2022 to July 2025.
3. Lexus LS – 6 units built between November 2022 and August 2023.
4. Lexus NX – 443 units manufactured from November 2021 to February 2025.
5. Lexus RX – 745 units produced between May 2022 and June 2025.

Each affected model is equipped with the Panoramic View Monitor which includes the Parking Assist ECU software. The recall will involve updating this software to ensure the system continues to operate smoothly and safely.

Lexus LM Parking Assist ECU Software Update

The issue is related to the Lexus LM Parking Assist ECU software which controls the visual feed from the 360 degree camera setup. The brand discovered that in rare situations the system might not display the rear-view image correctly.
