This marks the highest ever annual sales achieved by the SUV since its launch. For a vehicle to reach this figure, it often takes several years or even a decade but for Creta, it has become a regular achievement, reflecting its stronghold in the market

With this record, the Creta has solidified its position as India’s best selling SUV over the last five years, when considering cumulative sales. Its popularity shows no signs of slowing, even as competition in the midsize SUV space intensifies

Hyundai Creta Dominates India’s 4.2m to 4.4m SUV Segment

The 4.2m to 4.4m SUV category is one of the most competitive in India featuring 13 active contenders, including:

• Hyundai Creta
• Kia Seltos
• Maruti Suzuki Victoris
• Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
• Toyota Hyryder
• Tata Sierra
• Tata Curvv
• Honda Elevate
• MG Astor

In 2025, Hyundai Creta’s sales reached 2 lakh units marking its best annual performance in the SUV segment. While Creta did not create this category, it has become one of the defining models in the 4.2m to 4.4m SUV space

This year also coincides with Creta’s 10th anniversary in India, during which it has achieved a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 9% between 2016 and 2025. With a market share of around 34% in its segment, Creta has become a trusted name among Indian SUV buyers

Expansion Of Hyundai Creta Lineup

In 2025, Hyundai further strengthened the Creta brand by introducing the Creta Electric, bringing modern and eco-friendly technology to the popular SUV lineup. The SUV continues to offer three 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine options, including:

• Naturally aspirated petrol
• Turbo petrol
• Turbo diesel

These engines remain highly popular among buyers, offering a mix of efficiency, performance and versatility

Hyundai Creta N Line And Special Variants
