MG Car Prices to Rise by 2% from April 1: Should You Buy Now?

JSW MG Motor India has announced a price hike of up to 2% n across its vehicle lineup, effective from April 1, 2026.
According to the company the price adjustment is intended to partially offset these cost pressures rather than fully pass them on to customers. However, the prices of the MG Select line-up will not be increased, which currently includes the MG M9 Presidential Limo and MG Cyberster.
The decision comes as automakers continue to face rising input costs including higher prices of raw materials, logistics and overall production expenses.
The revision will apply across the brand’s portfolio in India which includes models such as the MG Hector, MG Astor, MG ZS EV, MG Comet EV, and the MG Windsor EV.
What is NOT Affected?
The price revision does not apply to MG’s premium “MG Select” channel. If you are looking at the following high-end models, their prices remain unchanged for now:
- MG Cyberster (Electric Roadster)
- MG M9 (Premium MPV/Limo)
While the overall figure of 2% is announced, exact price tag of all models will be revealed once the new prices are in effect. Buyers can check the revised model-specific prices online on company’s official website or visit their nearest MG dealership.
Official Statement
In an official statement, JSW MG said that its portfolio will witness a price hike of up to 2%, effective April 1. “This price revision is aimed at partially offsetting the impact of continuously rising input costs,” the company added.
“Customers are encouraged to contact their nearest MG dealership or visit the official MG India website to stay updated on model-specific pricing,” the automaker noted.
Caronphone Says…
With the price hike starting this Wednesday, April 1, the window to secure current pricing is extremely narrow. Since dealerships will immediately apply the revised rates to all new deliveries and processing from Wednesday onward, your last real chance to lock in the lower price is to finalize your booking and payment by the end of business tomorrow, March 31.
