Hyundai Takes a Big Leap with 26 Car Launches by FY2030
Hyundai Motor India wants to regain its edge in India by launching a total of 26 models over the next five financial years. The company revealed that it expects its range to grow with 20 ICE models and 6 EVs by FY2030.

ICE vs EV: Hyundai's Indian Revival Gameplan at a Glance

As Hyundai deals with pressure from two at-home manufacturers making a mark in SUVs and EVs—Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra—this announcement arrives.

Focus on Internal Combustion Engines

Although the world is emphasizing using more electric cars, India is still driven mostly by ICE cars which Hyundai continues to focus on. All of the 20 scheduled ICE launches will involve showing off brand-new cars, upgraded series and improved versions of current models.

Among the biggest launches is the upgraded Hyundai Venue which is being tested right now and should debut at the end of 2025. On top of that, the new Hyundai Creta will be introduced by 2027 after ongoing development.

Electric Vehicles Will Help Other Solutions

Hyundai will release six electric vehicles in India, in addition to its ICE models. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be updated in 2025 with a facelift and the Creta will be introduced in an electric version, also with a mid-life update. The company is also working on a new micro electric SUV that takes inspiration from the Inster EV sold outside the United States. India’s electric vehicle sector is advancing swiftly, said Unsoo Kim, MD and CEO of Hyundai Motor India, at the event. Last year, EVs accounted for approximately 6.4% of passenger vehicle sales in India, but industry analysts forecast they could account for 20% of sales by 2030.

Hybrid Models Under Consideration

Hyundai will also offer hybrid powertrains as part of its drive toward sustainable transportation. There is now a new hybrid 7-seater SUV being developed that will sit between the Alcazar and Tucson. Once it’s out, the Skoda Kushaq will be up against the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari.

Hybrid vehicle sales in India are on the rise because they help lower fuel and pollution levels without relying entirely on charging.

Addressing Market Share Concerns

Recent times have brought a drop in Hyundai’s market share in India because of stronger competition and different buyer habits. The new product plan is Intended to win back customers by offering models that appeal to small car buyers, families driving SUVs and those looking for electric vehicles.

This decision, it is said, could enable Hyundai to reenter the Indian market strongly, as long as its cars are offered with attractive pricing and full-range features across the powertrain range.

What to Expect in 2025?

Among key products Hyundai plans to release over the 2025-2026 period are:
  • Next-gen Hyundai Venue (ICE)
  • Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift (EV)
  • New 7-seater hybrid SUV
The firm has remained silent on the prices or planned dates for each product but is believed to release more information soon.
