The new EV Policy offers a suite of incentives aimed at making electric vehicles (EVs) more accessible and appealing across the state.
Maharashtra govt has cleared the state’s Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2025, laying out financial incentives and infrastructure targets aimed at supporting the state’s shift to cleaner transportation by 2030.
“The cabinet has approved a new EV policy that aims to boost manufacturing and adoption of electric vehicles in Maharashtra,” Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said after a cabinet meeting on Tuesday. “Special emphasis will be laid on growing the EV charging infrastructure in the state, as well as extending subsidy and toll-free travel for EVs.”
The EV Policy 2025 is set to be in effect until March 31, 2030. The state government has allocated ₹1,993 crore to implement the various initiatives outlined in the policy.
