Mahindra secures order of 1,986 Scorpio Pick-ups for the Indian army

Indian Army will add the Mahindra Scorpio pick-up truck to it's fleet.

Mahindra has revealed that it has signed a 2,700 crore contract with the Indian Armed Force to supply 1986 units of Scorpio Pik-up.

Moreover, Mahindra will be supplying over 4,000 units of vehicles to the Army. This includes Scorpio Pik-Ups, Scorpio Classic, Scorpio N and Bolero Pik-Up 4WD. Indian Armed Forces will also receive over 7000 Mahindra Scorpio Classic SUVs.

The Scorpio Classic SUVs intended for the Indian Army come in a unique paint shade and feature standard four-wheel drive (4WD) technology. They are equipped with a 2.2-litre diesel engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

Mahindra Scorpio Pik-up Details

The test mule of the Scorpio Pik-up which was spotted gave a clear view on the front-fascia, the headlights and the LED DRLs are the same as seen on the regular Scorpio N. Moreover, it featured a blacked-out grille with vertical slats and the twin-peak Mahindra logo. Additionally, It had a twin-cabin setup, It rides on similarly designed dual-tone alloy wheels and has indicators integrated into the ORVMs.

Indian Army vehicles

The Indian Army currently has Tata Safari Storme, Maruti Suzuki Gypsy, and Force Gurkha in its fleet. Additionally, over 60 Jimny vehicles were added to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), marking the first-ever induction of the Jimny into the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
