Mahindra Thar Roxx Deliveries Officially Begin

Mahindra has officially begun deliveries of its highly anticipated Thar ROXX.

Mahindra Thar Roxx is one of the most-awaited products from the Indian SUV maker this year. Mahindra has assured customers that it will communicate tentative delivery schedules in a phased manner over the next three weeks.

After the bookings opened, the SUV received 1.76 lakh bookings within an hour of initiation. Now, the consumers waiting for their SUV have started receiving the deliveries of the off-road capable vehicle.

Mahindra has followed the first-come, first-serve formula, which was earlier used in delivering XUV700 and Scorpio-N.

The combined annual production for the Thar 3-door and the 5-door Roxx is now close to 70,000 units.

Mahindra will more likely reduce the waiting period for the Thar Roxx by ramping up production; the monthly production capacity will be upped to 7,500 units by November, and from January, there are talks of the production capacity hitting the 9,500 unit mark for both models.

The Thar Roxx is available in 4×2 and 4×4 versions and comes in six variants: MX1, MX3, AX3L, MX5, AX5L, and AX7L, with prices starting at Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

There are 7 exterior colors offered: Stealth Black, Tango Red, Everest White, Deep Forest, Nebula Blue, Battleship Grey, and Burnt Sienna.

On the inside, Thar Roxx gets two color choices on the 4×4 variants: Ivory and Mocha. The 4WD hardware is only offered on the MX5, AX5L, and AX7L trims, with automatic 4WD being exclusive to the AX5L and AX7L.

Under the hood, Thar Roxx is powered by both a 2.0L turbo-petrol and a 2.2L diesel engine. The former generates a maximum power of 174 bhp with 380 Nm, while the latter offers a max output of 172 bhp and 370 Nm of peak torque.
