The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is set to make its Indian debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January in New Delhi. The electric SUV is basically the production version of the eVX concept that debuted at the 2023 Auto Expo.
The e Vitara is in its final production-ready phase and is all set to be launched in the global markets in the coming year.
Production of this model is slated to commence in spring 2025 at Suzuki’s Gujarat facility, which will be dedicated to electric manufacturing.
The e Vitara will be a global product for Maruti’s parent company, Suzuki, and will be sold in Europe, Japan, and India.
Built on the new Heartect-e skateboard platform, the e Vitara was co-developed with Toyota and is entirely electric. The platform features integrated eAxles, which combine the motor and inverter. Suzuki emphasizes the platform’s combination of the robust characteristics of an SUV with the modern feel of an EV.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara: Design
The Suzuki e Vitara features sleek LED headlights and Y-shaped LED DRLs, with a gloss black trim in between. Moreover, the bumper is sculpted heavily and features a black lower portion along with an air dam, which is flanked by LED fog lamps. The company is also offering the e-Vitara with two sizes for its alloy wheels: 18-inch as well as 19-inch wheels. Moreover, it gets a connected LED taillight with a clear lens. There is also an integrated spoiler, a shark fin antenna, and a wiper on the rear windshield. Moreover, the rear door handles are located on the C-pillars, while the charging port can be found on the front fender.
