Maruti Suzuki Fronx Achieves Milestone: Over 2 Lakh Units Sold in Record Time

Maruti Suzuki’s compact SUV, the Fronx, has reached a major milestone by selling over 2 lakh units in India.

It has become the fastest Nexa SUV to hit this milestone, followed by the Grand Vitara. In its debut year, the Fronx registered 1,34,735 units sold by the end of the 2024 fiscal year.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx secured the fifth spot among the top-selling utility vehicles from April to August 2024.

The Maruti Fronx went on sale on April 24, 2023; the Baleno-based compact SUV sold from the company’s premium Nexa outlet.

In its first full fiscal year (FY2024), the Maruti Fronx recorded sales of 1,34,735 units. This resulted in an average monthly dispatch of 11,228 units, while, between April and August 2024, the vehicle sold an additional 59,967 units, marking a 15 percent impressive year-on-year increase, which translates to roughly 400 units sold daily.

With this latest milestone, the Maruti Fronx has become Nexa’s fastest SUV to reach the 2,000,000 mark, doing so in five months less than the Maruti Grand Vitara, which took 22 months.

This accomplishment, reached by mid-September 2024, showcases the strong demand and appeal of the Fronx in the Indian market.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is available in six variants: Sigma, Delta, Delta Plus, Delta Plus (O), Zeta, and Alpha.

Under the hood, the Fronx is equipped with two powertrain options: a 1.0L Boosterjet turbocharged engine (100bhp, 147Nm) paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, and a 1.2L NA petrol engine (90bhp) with a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
