Notably, India will be the first right-hand driven market to get the new E-Class in the LWB form.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Exterior and design
The 6th-generation E-Class features a redesigned front fascia and reprofiled LED headlamps. The car gets quad-tail lights with unique star-shaped brake lights and flush-fitting door handles.
The new E-class offers a distinctive front grille, accentuated by intricate chrome embellishments featuring a multitude of three-pointed stars.
The 2024 E-Class LWB has grown in dimensions, being 13mm taller and 14mm longer, with its wheelbase extended by 15mm. This growth not only contributes to a more imposing road presence but also enhances interior space for passengers.
At the rear, the 2024 E-Class boasts sleek wraparound tail lamps with star-shaped LED internal elements and a radiant chrome strip that extends above the lights with an additional touch of chrome graces the lower part of the rear bumper.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Interior and features
The interior will boast four-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, soft-close doors, electric sun blinds for the rear occupants, ambient lighting, wireless chargers for both rows, a 360-degree camera, a Level 2 ADAS suite, and the optional hyperscreen.
It will also come with a 4D surround sound system by Burmester. Three interior colors will be offered, all featuring a common black dashboard shade. While the front seats do not have ventilation, moreover, the driver’s seat will get a memory function.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Powertrain and performance
The upcoming E-Class LWB will be available with a choice of two four-cylinder engines: a 204hp, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol, and a 197hp, 2.0-liter turbo-diesel. Both powertrains are enhanced by 48V mild hybrid systems, adding an extra 23hp and 205Nm of torque. These engines are paired with a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, promising a blend of performance and efficiency.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Expected price
The 2024 E-class is expected to be priced above the outgoing model, which ranges from ₹76.05 lakh to ₹89.15 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new E-Class will start at around Rs 82 lakh for the petrol variant.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Rivals
The upcoming E-Class LWB will directly compete with the BMW 5-Series LWB, which is priced at Rs 72.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
