Maruti Suzuki recently launched the fourth-generation Dzire in the country. India’s largest car manufacturer has now confirmed that new gen dzire will be available for private buyers only , and for taxi/fleet owners old gen would be available.
Maruti Suzuki will bifurcate its sales between private and commercial spaces offering the new model to regular buyers and the old-gen model to the taxi drivers.
“We are targeting the private buyer (with the new Dzire),” Hisashi Takeuchi, chief executive of India’s largest carmaker, said on the sidelines of the launch of the fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire in New Delhi on Monday. “So, we will introduce this car to the private buyer and keep selling the previous generation to the fleet segment. That’s how we will differentiate both the markets (hereon).
According to Partho Banerjee, Head of Sales and Marketing at Maruti Suzuki, the new Dzire will not completely replace the current model. He said that the current-gen Dzire will carry on as the Tour version only.
The Maruti Dzire Tour S is aimed at fleet operators and the taxi market. The new Tour S, based on the fourth-generation model, will be launched a few years later.
Notably, out of the 1.6 lakh Dzires sold last year, around 60,000 units were the Tour variant. This means the average turns out to be about 5,000 units a month.
The New Dzire comes with between the price range of Rs 6.79 lakh and Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
The 2024 Dzire is available in four variants — LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus.
Moreover, the new Dzire is powered with an 1.2-litre, z-series, 3-cylinder petrol unit. The car generates 82 PS and 112 Nm of torque. This car is offered with a standard 5-speed manual transmission and 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission).
