Tata Sierra EV Launch Date Confirmed for June 30: Check Expected Price & Range

Tata Sierra EV is officially scheduled to make its global debut on June 30, 2026. This all-electric avatar is positioned to slot directly between the Curvv EV and the flagship Harrier EV in Tata’s growing portfolio.

Underpinned by the brand’s highly modular, born-electric acti.ev+ architecture, the Sierra EV marks a departure from traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) conversions. This dedicated EV platform allows for optimal battery packaging, a flat cabin floor, and high-performance capabilities including a rumoured dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) layout.

Slotting right beneath the flagship Harrier EV, the production version is tipped to closely follow the radical concept lines first showcased at the Auto Expos.

Design

Unlike typical modern crossovers, Tata Motors is leaning heavily into nostalgia. The production version of the Sierra EV successfully retains the boxy, upright silhouette of the original 1990s three-door SUV.

Key design highlights include:

• The Signature Glasshouse: The iconic wraparound rear alpine windows have been reimagined to meet modern safety standards while preserving the vehicle’s classic DNA.
• EV-Specific Styling: To differentiate it from its upcoming Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) counterpart, the Sierra EV features a completely closed-off front grille, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and futuristic, full-width connected LED light bars at both the front and rear.
• Practical 5-Door Layout: While the concept teased a unique seating lounge, the production version will feature a highly practical five-door configuration to maximize cabin space and everyday usability.

Interior

Step inside, and the nostalgic vibe gives way to a bleeding-edge digital environment. Top-spec variants of the Sierra EV are heavily rumoured to feature a sophisticated triple-screen dashboard layout, creating an ultra-premium ecosystem for both the driver and the front passenger.

1. 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit: A highly customizable instrument cluster projecting turn-by-turn augmented navigation.
2. 12.3-inch Central Touchscreen: Handling the core infotainment, smart connectivity, and climate controls.
3. 12.3-inch Co-Driver Screen: A dedicated passenger information and entertainment display featuring gaming and video controls, seamlessly shielded from the driver’s view to prevent distraction.

Drivetrain and Battery Pairing

The Tata Sierra EV will be available in both Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD)configurations. To ensure maximum performance, Tata is offering the high-capability AWD system only with the 75kWh battery version. This dual-motor setup is reserved for the flagship model to deliver superior traction and power.

Safety Features

The upcoming Sierra EV is heavily focused on safety and real-world utility. It is slated to feature a comprehensive Level-2 ADAS suite, packing essential driver-assist technologies like lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking.

Adding to its practicality, the SUV will feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing owners to utilize the vehicle’s high-capacity battery as a mobile power bank to run appliances, camping gear, or electronic devices on the go.

Expected Price

Tata is expected to position the Sierra EV competitively, with estimated pricing ranging between ₹20 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom). This aggressive price bracket places it directly in the crosshairs of the booming mid-size electric SUV segment.
