The long-awaited Tata Sierra was officially unveiled in its near-production guise at the 2025 Auto Expo
The Tata Sierra will be available in both ICE (petrol and diesel) and EV versions.
Tata Sierra has been slated to launch in the country in the second half of this year.
Tata Motors have confirmed that the SUV’s all-new version will be offered with three powertrain options – petrol, diesel and electric – in the second half of this year. It’s most likely to arrive during 2025 festive season (October – November).
Moreover, the Sierra will be introduced in its electric form first, with the ICE version to follow by late 2025.
Tata Recently presented the Tata Sierra at the India Mobility Expo 2025, moreover, it has been seen testing on Indian roads. The all-new Sierra will adopt Tata’s latest design language while retaining iconic elements from the original model, such as the large rear glass area, curved rear windows, and blacked-out C- and D-pillars.
The Sierra EV will be designed on the new Acti.ev platform, which also underpins the Punch EV and Curvv EV. It’s essentially the brand’s Gen2 EV architecture with an optimized battery pack design offering multiple range options, from 300 km to 600 km. The platform supports AWD, RWD, and FWD drivetrain systems.
The ICE version of the Sierra will feature Tata’s all-new 1.5L Hyperion turbo petrol engine and a 2.0L diesel engine, producing a maximum power of 170bhp. The gasoline unit delivers a peak torque of 280Nm, while the oil burner offers 350Nm.
On the feature front, we can expect the Sierra to offer sound system sourced from Harman, wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a 360 degree camera, electronic stability control, 6 airbags, Level 2 ADAS and more.
