Toyota Fortuner Variants Rejigged, 4×4 Trims Looses Ventilated Seats Option

Toyota revised the pricing of its popular SUV, the Fortuner recently, making it one of the most premium ladder-frame SUVs in the country.

The company has also launched the MHEV iteration of the full-size SUV just over a week ago. However, the new Toyota Fortuner losses out the ventilated seats feature. Surprisingly, the other models of the Fortuner still get the ventilated seats, while the newer model misses out on that.

Moreover, Fortuner Diesel 4X4 AT and Legender Diesel 4X4 AT have been discontinued.

Diesel 4x4 AT variants Discontinued

Toyota has discontinued the Fortuner diesel 4×4 AT variants in India, bringing the total number of variants on offer down to nine from 11.

The Japanese brand introduced the MHEV iteration of the full-size SUV just over a week ago. It was followed by a price hike as the automaker increased the ex-showroom prices by up to Rs. 68,000 for the Fortuner 4×2 Petrol Automatic trim.

Fortuner range now starts from Rs 36.05 lakh and goes till 52.34 lakh (Ex-showroom).

Ventilated Seats Removed

The Fortuner and Legender 4×4 versions no more offer ventilated seats. While, the 4×2 variants of both SUV’s will come equipped with the ventilated seats feature.

Notably, ventilated seats are a must-have feature in the Indian car market, particularly for SUVs. At this price point, the Fortuner Neo Drive should have been equipped with ventilated seats, especially when the other models still get it.

The 4×4 versions are usually picked by those who want both great capability and a full set of features.

The recent decision will be closely watched to see how it affects sales and how customers feel about their brand in India’s fiercely competitive SUV market.

Toyota Fortuner mild-hybrid Features

Toyota has made some other features standard across these new mild-hybrid versions. Things like the Multi-Terrain Select system (for better off-road control), a 360-degree camera, and wireless smartphone charging. Moreover, terrain modes – Mud, Sand, Rock, Dirt and Snow are now included.
