Tata Motors is becoming increasingly aggressive with its product strategy for the fast-growing Indian market. Tata Motors is preparing to launch a range of new cars in the next two years.
Tata Motors plans to have 10 electric offerings in the Indian market by 2025. The carmaker already has a slew of products in the electric vehicle range, and this is set to expand in the coming months.
Tata Avinya
The Tata Avinya EV, first unveiled as a concept in 2022, showcases the brand’s Gen 3 EV platform.
The AVINYA concept focuses on human-centric design and promises a sensory journey of its own. From the sky dome that enhances the overall sense of space and natural light to the functional console-inspired steering wheel, to the voice-activated systems for a deeper interface for all its passengers, to the sustainable materials being used that communicate the ethos of the product, and finally the finishing touch of the aroma diffuser – that envelopes you in an ambience that is serene and soothing.
Tata Altroz EV
The all-electric avatar of the Altroz premium hatchback, based on Tata Motors’ new Acti-EV platform, sharing architecture as the Punch EV, we can expect similar-sized battery packs on offer (25kWh-35kWh), with similar ARAI-rated ranges (315-421km). In addition, the outputs of the Altroz EV’s motor should also be similar to the Punch EV’s 82-122 hp.
The Altroz EV will be launched in India in 2025, about five years after the concept was first displayed to a global audience.
Tata Sierra EV
The Sierra will be a lifestyle SUV with a feature-loaded interior, including a twin-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit, and a digital instrument console. It is expected to offer two seating configurations: a regular 5-seater with a rear bench seat and a 4-seater lounge version.
Tata Harrier EV
The Tata Harrier EV features a new blanked-off grille, a revised bumper with angular creases, a split headlamp setup with blackened housing, and a new LED light bar spanning its width. Both the Harrier EV and Safari EV will be built on the Acti.ev platform, supporting FWD, RWD, and AWD systems. The Tata Harrier EV was first showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo and then at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year. This all-electric midsize SUV from Tata is currently under development.
The Tata Harrier EV has been spotted testing several times, which means that the launch date is arriving sooner rather than later.
Tata Safari EV
This model will be based on the Acti.EV platform and promises to revolutionize electric SUVs, sharing its foundation with the Harrier EV.
The technical details of the Safari EV will remain largely similar to the Harrier EV, including the power output figures, except for maybe a larger battery for the bigger Safari. Talking about design, then the design of the new Safari EV three-row electric SUV looks quite similar to the ICE engine-powered Safari. The interior will also be almost similar to the regular Safari. However, the new Safari EV will be offered with cosmetic changes. In this, you can see a closed grille, differently designed alloy wheels, and an EV badge.
Additionally, the car shall have a robust electric architecture, ensuring a stable and secure driving experience. Additionally, the car shall have a robust electric architecture, ensuring a stable and secure driving experience.
