Volkswagen India to bring Golf GTI and Tiguan R-Line In Q2 2025

Volkswagen has announced the launch of Golf GTI and the Tiguan R-Line in the country in India in the second quarter of 2025.

Both vehicles will be available as full imports, While official pricing is yet to be confirmed.

Volkswagen will import 150 units of the Golf GTI and 300 units of the Tiguan R-Line to India in the first batch. Notably, the automaker will introduce the MK 8.5 version of the Golf GTI, and the new generation of the Tiguan will be in its top-spec trim, the Tiguan R-Line variant.

The German automaker also reported a 3% year-to-date growth in sales volumes as of February 2025 compared to the previous year.

Moreover, Volkswagen has focused on offering a range of vehicles known for their build quality, safety features, and driving dynamics. The brand’s product lineup includes sedans, SUVs, and performance-oriented models, catering to a diverse customer base.

Volkswagen launched the Polo GTI in limited numbers back in 2016. the GTI features Volkswagen’s distinctive design language. Moreover, the Golf GTI is the second VW model to don the coveted ‘GTI’ badge after the Polo GTI.

The Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The motor produces an impressive 265hp of power and 370Nm of torque. It is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox which drives only the front wheels.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is basically a sportier avatar of the regular Tiguan. It is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that makes 190hp/320Nm.
