Volvo is gearing up for making global debut for its highly anticipated ES90, set to debut on March 5, 2025.

Volvo’s approach with the ES90 signals a deliberate pivot toward embracing the concept of “supercomputer on wheels” in a way that remains distinctly Volvo: focused on safety, sustainability, and Scandinavian luxury.
The ES90 will sit on the same SPA2 platform as the EX90, with the saloon likely to measure almost five metres in length. That means it’ll sit between the old S90 and the long-wheelbase version of the same car.
Additionally, due to the new model’s electric-specific architecture, we can expect space in the back seats of the ES90 to surpass that offered in its predecessor – allowing greater scope for that sloping, more aerodynamic roofline.
Furthermore, Volvo claims the ES90 will be the most powerful car it has ever produced — in terms of core computing capacity, that is. It features an updated version of Volvo’s Superset tech stack that debuted with the EX90, which is one set of hardware and software systems that will be used on all of the brand’s future EVs.
The ES90 is one of five new or updated Volvo models launching this year. In February, Volvo revealed the rugged EX30 Cross Country and an updated XC60. Additional models expected include an updated S60 compact sedan and a long-range plug-in hybrid tailored for the Chinese market.
