Homegrown automaker Mahindra and Mahindra are all set to unveil two new EVs by the end of this month.
Mahindra will reveal the production-ready BE.05 SUV and the XUV.e9 on November 26 in Chennai.
Both the EVs will be built on Mahindra’s new INGLO platform. Moreover, the production-spec SUVs will be based on the Mahindra XUV.e9 and Mahindra BE.05 concept vehicles that were unveiled earlier in 2022.
Additionally, both of these electric SUVs feature a coupe roofline and will be the first EVs under the XEV and BE brands.
Mahindra XEV 9e: Design
The Mahindra XEV 9e appears to be based on Mahindra’s XUV platform. The XEV will be a slightly bigger (midsize) SUV, which will have a more sophisticated look with modern design elements.
Mahindra claims that the XEV 9e will bring “electric luxury” to a new level, likely incorporating premium materials, cutting-edge interior design, and an array of comfort-focused technologies.
It is expected that the XEV 9e will share its battery pack and powertrain with the BE 6e.
Mahindra BE 6e: Design
The Mahindra BE 6e has a sporty performance crossover-type silhouette. Mahindra stated during the unveiling of the concept vehicle that this would be a Sports Electric Vehicle (SEV).
The Mahindra BE 6e is expected to be offered in RWD and AWD forms and with two battery options: 60kWh and 79kWh. It is expected to go 450km on a single charge; both versions will come with ultra-fast charging capabilities.
