Mercedes-Benz India achieved a sales milestone of 9,262 units in the first half (H1) of 2024, registering a 9% YoY growth. Mercedes-Benz did not provide a model-wise sales breakdown.
The SUV segment accounted for 55 percent of the total sales in H12024. The SUV range includes the GLA, GLC, GLE, and GLS.
The TEV (top-end vehicle) segment priced above Rs 1.5 crore comprised 25 percent of total sales, which reflects the evolving luxury car market in India.
The sedan portfolio too saw strong preference for the A-Class, C-Class, outgoing LWB E-Class, and S-Class.
The BEV segment of the luxury carmaker also saw impressive growth, with a 60 percent increase in H1 2024, which contributes to 5 percent of the total sales volume.
The luxury carmaker also reported a 108 percent growth in Mercedes-Maybach sales in the first six months of the year.
Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, stated, “New and updated products, elevated customer experience at retail and ease of ownership, combined with positive customer sentiments boosted our best-ever H1 sales performance. With some of the most-awaited products lined up for the upcoming festive season, we expect the remaining quarters to continue the forecasted growth,”
The German carmaker also added the all-new EQA 250+ and the facelifted EQB 350 to its electric car lineup. On July 8th, with new BEV launches, it now has a total four EVs, namely the EQA, EQB, EQE, and EQS.
Notably, Mercedes-Benz India plans to introduce six new products in the second half of 2024.
Mercedes-Benz India recently expanded its luxury touchpoints across major cities like Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru.
