2nd gen Skoda Kodiaq to be launched in India in April 2025

Skoda India is gearing up for the launch of the new-gen Kodiaq SUV this April. The all-new Kodiaq will soon land on Indian shores.

The 2nd-gen Kodiaq made its global debut in October last year and was showcased in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025.The company will bring the new-gen Kodiaq as completely knocked-down units (CKD) to be assembled locally.

The SUV is based on the MQB platform and will be slightly larger in size compared to the outgoing version.

Skoda will launch new Kodiaq in three versions – Sportline, L&K and RS.

Test mules of the 2nd gen Kodiaq have been spotted on multiple occasions over the past few months. The production for the SUV will commence around March 2025 at the company’s facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

2025 SKODA KODIAQ Design

The second-gen Kodiaq has an evolutionary design language compared to the first-gen model which is still on sale in India.

The front fascia retains a familiar look, which features Skoda’s iconic butterfly grille with sleek, all-black vertical slats. The grille is now accompanied by a redesigned split-headlight setup, boasting a wider headlamp cluster and distinctive LED daytime running lights (DRLs), lending the Kodiaq a fresh and modern appearance.

In profile, the second-gen Kodiaq looks like an evolved version of the outgoing model. Unlike the current model, the new Kodiaq has a rising beltline towards the D-pillar and the accents on the pillars give it a floating roof effect.

Coming to the rear, the SUV gets a more sharply angled quarter glass, with the lower area of the D-pillar having a sharp upward kink. The next-gen Kodiaq features C-shaped wraparound tail lamps with Skoda lettering in the centre.

On the inside, the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq features a completely new design and layout for the dashboard, it features a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system that incorporates most cabin controls, along with a 10-inch ‘Virtual Cockpit’ digital instruments display. The gear selector for the automatic transmission has been moved from the centre console to behind the steering wheel, creating additional storage space.

2025 SKODA KODIAQ Safety Features

In terms of safety, the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq comes with multiple airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) and hill hold assist. The updated Skoda SUV also features advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) like automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane assist and parking assist functions.
