India’s most popular family MPV is ready for a key upgrade in 2025. According to recent reports, the overall length of the Ertiga will increase from 4.39 meters to 4.43 meters. The longer body will make space for a larger boot, which has been one of the most requested changes by family buyers.
The wheelbase however will stay the same at 2.74 meters. This means the cabin design, legroom and seating comfort will remain unchanged. Buyers can expect the same three-row practicality, but with more space for luggage when all rows are occupied.
This development was largely anticipated as the Ertiga Tour M fleet version already features these extended dimensions. The manufacturer is now ready to roll out the change for regular buyers as well, making it standard across the lineup.
At present the MPV is available in 9- trims with prices ranging from ₹ 9.11 lakh to ₹ 13.40 lakh. With the addition of TPMS and other small changes prices may see a slight revision when the updated version arrives in showrooms
The 2025 Ertiga is not expected to make any changes under the hood. The MPV will continue with the tried and tested 1.5L K-Series petrol engine and a CNG option for cost-conscious buyers.
The petrol versions have a smooth performance both on city and highway, whereas the CNG version is aimed at low running costs. The Ertiga is a flexible car because it has both manual and automatic transmission, which makes it suitable to various buyers.
One of the few complaints from buyers of the current Ertiga is the limited boot space when all three rows are in use. With just about 209 liters available, families often have to fold the third row to carry more luggage.
The upcoming update will fix this issue by offering more luggage room. For buyers, this means:
This simple but effective change strengthens the Ertiga’s position as a true family MPV.
Alongside the Ertiga update, the company is also preparing to launch an all-new midsize SUV on 3rd September 2025. This SUV will be sold exclusively through the Arena channel and will sit between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara in the product portfolio.
The new SUV will challenge the market leaders such as Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Its official name is yet to be confirmed but it is reported that it could be called either Escudo or Victoris.
