Toyota Rumion E Base Variant Launched at ₹9.56 Lakh: Check Full Features & Specs
- With this update, the Rumion has become Rs 95,000 more affordable and is now available in four trims: E, S, G and V, with prices topping out at Rs 13.86 lakh – the same as before.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has introduced the Toyota Rumion E, a fresh entry-level variant in its 7-seater lineup, with a price tag of ₹9.56 lakh (ex-showroom).
This strategic decision reduces the starting price of the MPV by roughly ₹95,000, making it a more attractive choice for families looking for budget-friendly options.

Is there a CNG or Automatic option?
No. The new E base model is only available with a Petrol Manual powertrain. If you need a factory-fitted CNG or a 6-speed Automatic transmission, you will need to step up to the S variant (starting at ₹10.51 Lakh).
Key Features (What you get)

The exterior boasts halogen projector headlamps, sleek LED tail lamps, and durable 15-inch steel wheels that come with full wheel covers.

Inside, you’ll enjoy a dual-tone cabin in Beige and Black, power windows for all four doors, a steering wheel that tilts for your comfort, and a digital MID displayed in the instrument cluster.
What’s Missing? (Compared to the S Variant)
Infotainment: There’s no music system or touchscreen, and you won’t find any steering-mounted controls.
Convenience: It doesn’t come with remote keyless entry, second-row center AC vents, or an adjustable rearview mirror for day and night.
Aesthetics: Door handles and ORVMs are unpainted (black) rather than body-colored, and there are no turn indicators on the mirrors.
Powertrain
| Engine | 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol |
|---|---|
| Power | 103 PS |
| Torque | 139 Nm |
| Transmission | 5-speed manual |
Verdict
The Rumion E is a basic model crafted for those who prioritize Toyota’s dependable reliability and safety features, including six standard airbags, over the latest tech and aesthetic extras.
The new E variant is a strategic entry point for those who want the Toyota badge for its perceived superior after-sales experience and warranty without the high entry cost of an Innova.
It’s an excellent foundation for owners who want to enhance their vehicle with aftermarket accessories while enjoying a reliable 7-seater platform.
