MG Gloster Discontinued in India; Removed From Official Website

JSW MG Motor India has officially discontinued its flagship SUV, the MG Gloster, completely removing it from the Indian website.

By shifting entirely to the new MG Majestor, the brand has skipped a minor facelift in favor of a total flagship evolution.

The strategic move aims to challenge long-standing rivals like the Toyota Fortuner in the ₹40+ lakh segment.

Why Was the MG Gloster Discontinued?

When it launched back in 2020, the MG Gloster was a highly disruptive vehicle. It shook up the segment by offering Level-1 ADAS tech, a premium interior, and massive proportions that rivaled the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.

However, long-term sales struggled to stay in the triple digits. Even special editions, like the ‘Blackstorm’, provided only temporary sales bumps. As premium Indian buyers moved toward bolder styling and more robust hardware, the Gloster’s softer luxury design fell behind.
