Jaguar Type 00 Concept globally unveiled
Jaguar has unveiled the Type 00 concept at Miami Art Week. It’s an all-electric luxury coupe, a two-door coupe that hints at the styling of the brand’s electric four-door grand tourer coming in 2026.
The vehicle, pronounced “Type Zero Zero,” features a minimalistic yet somewhat gaudy design. It is boxy with sleek lights and large wheels, a notable visual change from the brand’s current sporty cars and SUVs.
The production-spec version of the all-electric four-door GT from Jaguar will make its global debut in late 2025, before going on sale in 2026.
The exterior of the car marries a sweeping, fastback rear with a boxy and angular front end and a panoramic roof that is said to have “body-harmonizing glazing.” The striking bodywork with its elongated bonnet features a pronounced, squared-off shoulder line, while the sharp edges of the car’s nose are at odds with the gently sloping coupé roofline.
The magic of Jaguar is close to my heart—an original British luxury brand unmatched in its heritage, artistry, and emotional magnetism. That’s the Jaguar we are recapturing, and we will create the same sense of awe that surrounded iconic models like the E‑type. Our journey is already underway, guided by our original ethos to Copy Nothing—and the results will be spectacular.”
Inside—accessed by butterfly doors—is a completely new, minimalist Jaguar interior, with high lines separating passenger from driver, topped by hand-finished brass lines that split a pair of rising screens on the dash, with woven textiles and travertine stone supporting floating seats.
Mary Crisp, Jaguar’s Chief Materiality Designer, said:
The Materiality ideology for Type 00 embraces authentic, unexpected materials and captivating color, with our new creative philosophy visible at every turn. We have three key materials—brass, travertine stone, and textiles—and the way we use these materials represents bold pieces of art and creates a unique atmosphere.
The concept is built using the brand’s new Jaguar Electrical Architecture. This allowed the company to engineer and design the Type 00 from scratch, without constricting design with the onus of carrying over components from existing models. The company’s stated aim is to make vehicles that are unmistakably Jaguars, ones that stand out for their stunning design in a sea of SUV and sedan monotony—something the brand hasn’t always adhered to with recent products.
