Kia Carens Records 1.5 Lakh Sales In 27 Months From India Plant

Kia India has announced that the Carens MPV has crossed the 1.5 lakh unit sales milestone in the country. Kia Carens has been a runaway success ever since it was launched in February 2022 (while the production began on 21st January 2022). This milestone was achieved in just 27 months. Top and mid-spec variants accounted for more than 50% of these sales. The Carens accounts for approximately 15% of Kia’s monthly domestic sales and has exported close to 17,000 units.

Talking about the milestone, Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales & Business Officer, Kia India, said, “Carens has become a favorite among Indian families, offering them style and peace of mind on every journey. It now accounts for approximately 15% of our monthly domestic sales, and we are confident that its popularity will only grow in the coming years. We remain deeply committed to bringing innovative and high-quality vehicles to our customers and are grateful for their continuous support.”

Kia Carens is the third best-selling product in Kia’s India portfolio after the Sonet and Seltos; moreover, about 57 percent of the country’s buyers opted for the petrol powertrain, while 43 percent of all buyers opted for the diesel. Talking about consumer preference, 50% of consumers preferred top and mid trims featuring Sunroof, Multi Drive Modes, Ventilated Seats, and Kia Connect.

Kia India leads its production operations from its Anantapur plant and has completed 12 lakh vehicle dispatches, which includes 9.6 lakh sales in domestic markets and over 2.5 lakh units in terms of exports.
