Maruti Suzuki commences production at new plant in Haryana’s Kharkhoda

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (‘Maruti Suzuki’) today began commercial production at its Kharkhoda facility in Haryana.
In 2022, the Maruti Suzuki had announced to set up Kharkhoda plant with an installed peak capacity of 10 lakh units per annum at an investment of Rs 18,000 crore.
This is the company's third plant in Haryana.
With this, Maruti Suzuki, including Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited, the wholly owned subsidiary of Maruti Suzuki, will have a total annual production capability of 2.6 million units.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has began commercial production at its Kharkhoda facility in Haryana. The foundation stone for the facility, was virtually laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August 2022.

The facility becomes the company’s fourth production site, following Gurugram, Manesar (Haryana), and Mehsana (Gujarat).

The compact SUV Brezza will be the first model to roll out from the facility.

Maruti Suzuki’s fourth manufacturing facility in the country will initially have a capacity of 2.5 lakh vehicles per annum, which will be increased to 1 million units annually over time.

In anticipation of growing demand for automobiles in India and worldwide, the car and SUV manufacturer plans to expand its annual production capacity to 4 million units annually by 2030-31.

With this addition, Maruti Suzuki, including its wholly owned subsidiary Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited, now boasts a total production capability of 2.6 million units per year.

The Kharkhoda plant is the brand’s largest manufacturing site in the country. It will be a key contributor to the brand’s strategy of significantly expanding its production capacity to four million units annually by 2030.
