16 Jul 2025, 06:10 PM
Tata Motors has made a significant move in the electric vehicle (EV) space by introducing a Lifetime Warranty on the High-Voltage (HV) battery of two major EV models Curvv.ev and Nexon.ev 45 kWh.
This initiative aims to boost buyer confidence, reduce long-term ownership worries, and set a new industry benchmark for electric mobility in India.
Key Highlights Of The Lifetime HV Battery Warranty
The new warranty structure brings a customer-first approach with major benefits:
First Lifetime HV Battery Warranty In India
- This is the first-of-its-kind offer in India, showing Tata’s commitment to long-term sustainability and customer assurance.
Coverage For Original Owner
- The warranty is applicable to the first registered owner only, valid until the end-of-life (EOL) of the battery or standard usage limits, whichever occurs earlier.
Available On 45 kWh Variants Only
- Only the Long Range (LR) variants Curvv.ev LR and Nexon.ev LR are eligible under this scheme.
No Extra Cost
- The warranty is being offered at no additional cost, adding greater value to the EV purchase.
Warranty Terms Explained
Battery Lifecycle Warranty
- Applies until the battery reaches its useful life limit or EOL as defined by Tata Motors.
Battery Usage Cap
- The warranty holds until the battery usage meets Tata’s internal lifecycle conditions, including factors like battery cycles and charging behavior.
Non-Transferable
- The coverage is strictly non-transferable, meaning it ends if the vehicle changes ownership.
Why This Matters For EV Buyers
- Resale anxiety is reduced
- Battery cost fear is eliminated
- Long-term ownership becomes feasible
