Tata Punch Crosses 4 Lakh Sales Milestone in 34 months

The Tata Punch has hit the four lakh sales milestone in the Indian market. The entry-level SUV has breached the 4 lakh sales milestone into three years since its launch in October 2021.

The Punch is the safest vehicle in its segment, having received a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating in 2021, with a five-star rating for adult occupants and three stars for child safety.

The sub-Compact SUV segment witnessed exponential growth of 75% year-on-year with Tata Punch leading the pack in FY24, capturing a dominant 68% market share in this segment.

According to Tata, the Punch has a 17.7 per cent market share in its segment and is the highest-selling model across all segments year-to-date FY2025. The Punch was the top-selling vehicle from January 2024 to June 2024.

Notably, by August 2022, the Punch had set a new industry record, becoming the first SUV to reach 1 lakh sales within just 10 months.

Its petrol version contributes 53 percent, while the 33 percent from the CNG version and 14 per cent from EV version of the overall sales.

The Punch set a new benchmark in the industry, by becoming the first SUV to achieve the 1 Lakh sales milestone in a span of just 10 months. Ever since, the journey to next 1 Lakh has narrowed with the 2 Lakh milestone being clocked in the next 9 months, shortly followed by the 3 Lakh milestone in 7 months.

The Punch is renowned for its road presence, being the tallest micro SUV in its segment with a ground clearance of 187 mm and a water-wading capacity of 370 mm.

The Tata Punch has 1 Petrol Engine and 1 CNG Engine on offer. The Petrol engine is 1199 cc while the CNG engine is 1199 cc . It is available with Manual & Automatic transmission.

The primary competitors for Tata Punch are: Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand I10 Nios, Mahindra Kuv100 and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
