Recently, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, extended his congratulations to Tata Motors and Tata EV for securing a coveted 5-star Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) rating for their Punch.ev and Nexon.ev models.
The Bharat NCAP rating system plays a crucial role in assessing the safety standards of vehicles available in India. Launched in August 2023, Bharat NCAP applies to the M1 category of vehicles with a gross weight of less than or equal to 3,500 kg. In the first results announced by the vehicle safety body in 2024, the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP) has bestowed two of Tata Motors’ popular electric vehicles (EVs).
With electric vehicles emerging as front-runners in the future of mobility, achieving a 5-star safety rating underscores Tata Motors’ commitment to providing high levels of safety to their consumers.
