Toyota Updates Innova Hycross With More Safety Tech

Toyota has added a new safety feature in the Innova Hycross. The brand has added Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System or AVAS to enhance pedestrian safety. However, The Japanese automaker has not revised the prices of the MPV.

The AVAS alert is implemented in specific hybrid variants: VX, VX (O), ZX, and ZX (O).

What is AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System)

Unlike internal combustion engines, there is little natural mechanical sound emitted from the engine of an electric vehicle (EV).

The Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) is a system that has emerged to warn Vulnerable Road Users (VRU) such as pedestrians, blinds, bicycle and motorcycle drivers with an artificial engine sound, in order to prevent the damages that occur in the world average due to the fact that the electric load is very quiet, especially when cruising at low speeds.

The Innova Hycross offer features like LED headlights with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 7-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front row seats, an 8-way powered driver seat with memory function, Ottoman rear seats (6-seater only), panoramic sunroof and 9-speaker JBL sound system.

The Toyota Innova Hycross comes with seven colour options, Blackish Ageha Glass Flake, Super White, Platinum White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Sparkling Black Pearl Crystal Shine, and Avant-garde Bronze Metallic.

Toyota Innova Hycross Safety Features

The Innova Hycross safety features include six airbags, vehicle stability control (VSC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a 360-degree camera. The Toyota MPV also has front and rear parking sensors, and a full suite of ADAS with lane-keep and departure assist, adaptive cruise control, auto-emergency braking and newly introduced AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System).
