Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, Golf GTI listed on VW India Website, to be launched soon

Volkswagen is expected to introduce the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line as a full import while the hot hatch will follow suit. Both the cars will be brought to India via the completely-built-unit (CBU) route.

Volkswagen India is gearing up to launch the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line and the Volkswagen Golf GTI in India. both the models have been listed on the Indian website.

Notably, the launch date of the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is confirmed for April 14, the date for the Volkswagen Golf GTI is yet to be confirmed. The hot hatchback’s launch might be soon as it was spotted undisguised in India.

Both the cars Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line and Volkswagen Golf FTI will be brought to India via the completely-built-unit (CBU) route.

Tiguan R-Line

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is expected to be below the Rs 50 lakh mark.

Powertrain

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line uses a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, delivering 184hp of maximum power and 300Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Golf GTI

The Volkswagen Golf GTI price in India to be above Rs 50 lakh (on road).

Powertrain

The Volkswagen Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, delivering 241hp of maximum power and 370Nm of peak torque. While Volkswagen offers both 6-speed MT and 7-speed DSG options in the international markets, it remains to be seen what transmission choices are introduced in India.
