Mercedes-Benz has officially launched the sixth-generation E-Class (V214) in India, starting at Rs 78.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the E 200 petrol model.
The sedan is available in three variants: E 200, E 220 d and E 450 4Matic.
Deliveries for the E 200 will begin this week, while the E 220d will be delivered after Diwali, and the E 450 is set to arrive by mid-November.
Moreover, India is the only right-hand-drive market to offer the E-Class Long Wheelbase (LWB), making this the second generation of this model available here.

E 220d – Rs 81.5 lakh
E 450 4Matic – Rs 92.5 lakh
Notably, The base price of this new model is Rs 2.45 lakh higher than the outgoing model.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Exterior
The front fascia now has sleeker LED headlights and a larger grille with chrome surrounds, new tristar elements, and the iconic Mercedes logo in the center. The front-end styling is influenced by Mercedes’ EQ models.
The new E-Class is 13 mm taller, 14 mm longer, and boasts a 15 mm longer wheelbase.
On the sides, the E-Class showcases new S-Class-style flush door handles and 18-inch wheels, along with new LED tail-lamps featuring a tri-arrow pattern. Generous chrome accents adorn the front and rear bumpers.
The sedan has grown slightly, now measuring 5,092mm in length, with a 15mm increase in its wheelbase, providing more space for passengers.
Moreover, the top-spec e450 version gets AMG-line treatment with different patterned alloy wheels.
The sixth-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class has five monotone colour options on offer: silver, grey, black, white and blue.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Interior
On the inside,the E-Class LWB boasts a new MBUX Hyperscreen with a 12.3-inch driver display and passenger display, while the centerpiece is a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other features include a panoramic sunroof, 4-zone climate control, two wireless chargers, powered seats, voice-assisted sunblinds, a selfie camera, a Burmester 4D sound system with Dolby Atmos support, electrically reclining rear seats, and comfort headrests. Moreover, Mercedes has provided seats that recline up to 36 degrees in the rear with extended thigh support, neck pillows and electrically operated sun blinds.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Powertrain
The new E-Class comes with three engine options:
A 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 204 hp.
A 2.0-litre diesel engine with 197 hp.
A 3.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine delivering 380 hp and 550 Nm.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Safety
On the safety front, the sixth-generation E-Class offers Level 2 ADAS features, including active brake assist, adaptive cruise control, and more. Other safety features include multiple airbags, including a central airbag, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera, ESC, and TPMS, among others. The sedan has a total of 8 airbags, and the Active Brake Assist system is now standard.
