Mahindra has updated the charging policy for eSUVs like the Mahindra XEV9e and Mahindra BE6 following customer feedback. The company announced this change after receiving high demand for the eSUVs.
The revised policy offers more flexibility for customers in specific circumstances, although Mahindra still recommends its certified chargers.
Earlier, one had to mandatorily buy either the 7.2 kW charger at Rs 50,000 or the 11.2 kW charger at Rs 75,000. Mahindra has now allowed the customers to opt out of the chargers if they meet the following conditions:
- Families purchasing two or more Mahindra e-SUVs may only require a single charging point.
- Customers whose homes or offices lack the necessary provisions for a private charger.
- Buyers who already possess a compatible charger that meets Mahindra’s safety standards.
Notably, Mahindra has recorded Rs 8,472 crore (ex-showroom price) worth of bookings for its XEV 9e and BE 6 electric SUVs on the first day.
