Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Launching Soon – What to Expect in 2025
01 Aug 2025, 04:21 PM
- Fresh design, upgraded tech, and ADAS safety features.
- Launch expected by early 2026 with no mechanical changes.
If you have the Volkswagen Taigun on your wishlist, you may be glad to read this. The Volkswagen Taigun facelift is officially in the pipeline. This update isn’t just a fresh coat of paint, it’s going to be a bit more meaningful (anticipation).
The facelifted version is set to deliver sleeker looks, upgraded tech, and a few clever touches borrowed from its larger cousin Tiguan R-line.
When is VW Taigun facelift launching in India?
Volkswagen has officially locked in an early 2026 launch for the Taigun facelift in India. It is coming approx. four years after the original Taigun, which debuted 2021.
Spy shots of camouflaged test mules have already surfaced on-road and online. They show a car nearing its final design stages.
The segment is already home to rivals like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, so Taigun has to bring something fresh to the table if it wants to stand out.
What’s new in Taigun facelift design?
The Taigun facelift won’t fiddle too much with an already successful blueprint. However, it will add sharper features, among which may include:
- Redesigned front grille
- Sleeker LED headlamps
- Fresh alloy wheel designs
- Improved rear bumpers
- New LED tail lamps
- Possibly new color options
Styling cues borrowed from the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line are sure to give the facelift some extra-premium vibes.
The car’s side profile is mostly unchanged, but there will be detailing (we’re guessing) that can help boost its road presence.
Is Taigun facelift interior getting a major upgrade?
Yes, and it’s not just new trims and colors. The Volkswagen Taigun upcoming model is expected to have:
- Larger infotainment screen with updated software
- 360-degree camera system
- Refreshed dashboard layout
- Ambient lighting
- Dual-zone climate control
- Possibly new upholstery options
A major upgrade in the facelifted Taigun is the addition of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and lane-keeping support. These features are currently missing from the existing model, by the way.
Are engines different in Taigun facelift?
The facelifted VW Taigun will stick to its proven powertrains:
- 1.0-litre turbo petrol (115 bhp, 178 Nm)
- 1.5-litre turbo petrol (150 bhp, 250 Nm)
Both engines will continue with their current transmission setups:
- 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter for the 1.0-litre
- 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG for the 1.5-litre
Volkswagen is also working on a new 8-speed automatic transmission for the 1.0-litre engine, slated to roll out a few months after the facelift reaches dealerships.
Price of Volkswagen Taigun facelift
The Volkswagen Taigun price currently ranges from ₹11.80 lakh to ₹21.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Prices for the updated Taigun are expected to start near ₹12 lakh and stretch up to ₹21 lakh, depending on the variant.
Is VW Taigun facelift 2025 worth waiting for?
If you’re in no rush and want the latest car tech, not to mention a vehicle with sharper looks and ADAS reliability, the VW Taigun facelift 2025 is absolutely worth the wait.
The car is coming with just the right mix of style and substance. It’s Volkswagen’s answer to the evolving demands of Indian SUV buyers.
